Window Company Provides Generous Gift to NOW Canada Society

May 25, 2016

It was an act of kindness that will make a big difference for those in need.

NOW Canada Society, a non-profit organization that provides housing and programs for women, youth and children who are at-risk, needed windows replaced in one of their safe homes in Kelowna.

“This safe house was built in the 1960’s and its windows were well past their sell-by date,” said Executive Director for NOW Canada, Liz Talbott.

Talbott made a call to Centra Windows and asked for an estimator to come view the home and provide a quote of how much money replacing the windows would cost.

“We wanted to get a quote to know how much money we had to go about raising,” said Talbott.

What happened next left Talbott and her team shocked.

After seeing the society’s needs, Centra windows sales estimator, Chad Guidi went back to the staff at Centra to find out what the company could do to help.

“I was happy to help NOW Canada as I am involved with the youth metal health programs in Kelowna, so this particular job held a special spot close to my heart,” said Guidi.

Centra decided to donate all the windows, screens and front doors to the society, as well as bring a team in to provide free installation.

“Such kindness should not go unrecognized” said Talbott.

“NOW Canada is truly grateful to the wonderful folks at Centra Windows.”

Now Canada Society has been operational since 1998, and has been providing front-line programs and services for women and youth who have experienced addictions, abuse, sexual exploitation and mental health challenges. Thanks to Centra Windows, funds are able to be focused on helping those most at risk.
